Snyk's genuine strength is developer-tooling maturity: it built its reputation on IDE, CLI, and source-control integrations that put findings directly in a developer's existing workflow, and it has one of the broadest ecosystems of any AppSec vendor. Snyk also publishes clear self-serve pricing, which most ASPM vendors don't.
Snyk AppRisk sits on top of Snyk's existing code, dependency, container, and IaC scanners; based on Snyk's own public product pages, none of those scanners reach compiled firmware, mobile app binaries, or desktop applications.
